Eristalis intricarius, King's Dyke

This was among many insects in the usual good spot near the Green Wheel crossroads between Bradley Fen and King's Dyke West.

what setting did you use to blurr your background?

Hi Tess. These are macro shots which normally have a very shallow depth of field anyway. In fact the challenge is usually to get enough to get the whole insect in focus so the background would normally be blurred. Settings:
#1&3: 1/400, f3.2
#2: 1/200, f9
